Inspired by... the right temperature

I {heart} my Mr. Coffee mug warmer.

If you're like me, you like to savor your beverage of choice.  The only problem is... when it's a hot beverage, savoring often = lukewarm

YUCK!

That's where Mr. Coffee comes in!

Now when I reach for my tea, coffee, chai latte, etc., it's always the perfect temperature!  Not too hot, but never lukewarm!

It's funny, since we moved to Texas five years ago we have yet to meet one person who, when asked if they are a Christian, says no.  Everyone in Texas is a Christian!

Well, obviously not.

And sadly, many who say they are, live lives that seem to contradict that claim.  I say this not in judgment, but with true sorrow over the lack of joy and blessing in their lives.

Jesus said,
"I know your works; you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth." (Rev 3:15-26)

A good question I try to remember to ask myself is,
"Have I done one thing today because He told me to do it?"
This question not only helps me examine the motives behind my actions, but reminds me to be about His work, not my own.

This can begin with the smallest of things.
Have I, today, dismissed one anxious thought for tomorrow, because Jesus told me to?  Have I shown consideration, done good, or extended patience toward another, contrary to my natural tendency, and with rejoicing, because He said to?

Keep in mind,
obedience is not perfection,
but making an effort.

You need to but step out in faith and begin to do that which He has told you to do.
Just as our parents help us with our first steps in the physical world, so you shall find your heavenly Father there alongside you in the spiritual world.

Thus, as you obey Him, you will learn to trust Him.

The truth of this in my life is evidenced in the increasing
joy and peace that surrounds my spirit.

How are you trusting Him today?  or if you're not, what will you do to begin?

Blessings,
