Inspired by... stripes
Bonnie's challenging us this week with black and white art. I have to admit, I'm drawn to black and white photography. There is something mysterious about it that draws the imagination. I'm lovin' the satin-like look Bonnie achieved on her peony shot – it's so... alluring, don't you think? Nice job, Bonnie and thanks for sharing the technique!
Something you may not know about me, I have rather an odd sense of humor. I thought it would be fun to play with some shots I took of some zebras for my black and white submission {smile}.

I played with the gradient map, special effects ideas that Bonnie shares in her video tutorial. It didn't give me a satin-like look, but I'm guessing that has more to do with the photo, or my Photoshop skills! I'm going to play some more with my floral images.
If you know anything about zebras, you know they've got attitude! But they also, each, have a unique set of stripes. Just like human fingerprints, no two are alike. Knowing that, these two cracked me up with their mirror-like behavior.
I've got so much I want to share with you! Tomorrow, I'm attending the Annual Blanco Lavender Festival. I can't wait to show you all the inspiration I find! I'm also working on a new summer wreath and have some beautiful, encouraging quotes to share!
I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!
Have a wonder-filled day!

Interesting how your gradient map edit gave soft horizontal stripes to contrast with the Zebra's vertical ones! Love the 'mirroring' behavior that you captured, too. Thanks for sharing with Photo Art Friday, June.
