Inspired by... the mist

The mist was heavy this morning. I just love mornings like this. I dream of one day capturing (on film, of course!) a deer in the field next to our house, just as the morning sun breaks through the mist, turning her coat the color of melting sugar. {sigh}

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;

His mercies never come to an end;

they are new every morning;

great is Your faithfulness."

Are you trusting in God's steadfast love today? Trusting in God's love means trusting His purpose and plan for our lives, rather than insisting on or following our own way.

God's love doesn't set us free to live however we want to live, anymore than our parents love set us free to act in anyway we wished. Rather, His love is a safe place for us to grow and learn to be more like Him. A place where we receive His correction and guidance.

How are we to learn to be more like Him? to know His purpose and plan for our life?

"How may a young man lead a clean life?

By holding to Your words." Psalm 119:9

Knowing God's word is how we come to know Him. It is how we can know His purpose and His will for our life. Psalm 119 goes on to say, "Teach me, Lord, the way of your statutes," "Give me the insight to obey your law," "Dispose my heart toward your instruction,". These are prayers we can pray with confidence because God will always answer them. How do I know? Because it is His will that we learn His statutes, obey His law and love His instruction!

One important thing to remember when we're seeking God's will: God's Will will never, ever, never, ever, ever violate His word. If you feel God is calling you to something that is contrary to His word, it.is.not.God.calling.

God is currently calling me to: wait, be patient, trust, abide in Him through some hard circumstances that are beyond my control. They are not beyond God's. His mercy is new every morning.

What is God calling you to today?

Blessings,

  3. I don't usually get up in the wee hours of the morning but am trying to make it a habit. At first I was like "who would want to do this!!" But I opened the drapes and I also saw the fog this morning and it was gorgeous. I wish I had thought of that first verse you shared - "New every morning!" I love it. :)
