God is Immutable
Immutable: not capable or susceptible of change
ἀμετάθετος
ametathetos
am-et-ath'-et-os
unchangeable, or (neuter as abstract) unchangeability: - immutable (-ility).
This Truth about God, that He changes not, Beloved, this is the ANCHOR of our faith.
You know what an anchor does for a ship, keeping it steadily in the place that the captain has placed it, even during the storms - so this Truth about our Lord will anchor your faith during the trials and storms of life. During times of doubt and despair. Of darkness and pain.
Wherein God, willing more abundantly to show unto the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel,
confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie,
we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
Heb 6:17-19
All these Truths we’ve been learning about God, that He is love, He is peace, He is all-powerful - - these Truths will never change. God will never change. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
This means what He says He will do - He will do. It means His word is Truth. All of it, not just the parts that we like, or the parts that make sense to our human minds.
And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know,
in paths that they have not known I will guide them.
I will turn the darkness before them into light,
the rough places into level ground.
These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them. Isa 42:16
What promises of God do you need to take hold of and believe today?
Lord, You are the Anchor of our soul.
With that hope set before us, we enter into your presence behind the veil.
We come to You, believing that You will do what You say You will do.
Guide us according to Your word, for we are blind to spiritual things.
Illuminate our hearts with Your Light and Your love.
