Of all the statements about life, Mother Teresa's seems to convey the enormity of what life is and means.  Her last two statements were especially poignant to reflect on this past Monday, Memorial Day.  There are some things that are impossible to fully comprehend until we have experienced their loss.

Life, I think, is one of these things.

Have you ever taken a life? Human or otherwise. Have you ever watched someone or something die?

Felt the finality of their presence here on earth? There is life all around us, and we are so very careless with it.

There is part of the quote above that I cannot agree with; life is not luck.

Life has a very definite purpose.

Personally, I believe that purpose is to know and love God.  Knowing Him gives us the freedom to do and experience all the facets of life that Mother Teresa spoke about.
