Inspired by... a wild rose

To me, there is nothing "common" about roses.

I love them.

They make me happy... {sigh}

This beauty was the perfect "model" for Kim's newest texture, Felicity.  It also worked well for my attempt at this week's "Beyond" challenge: creating a painterly effect.

Wild_Rose_Sienna

Featuring Klassen's sienna texture. Soft Light blend.

Wild_Rose_Sienna_Cyan

Attempting to create a "painterly affect"

This time I applied a cyan filter (50%) and then sienna texture, multiply blend mode 81%

Wild_Rose_Felicity_Gradient This beautiful result appeared after applying a gradient map and then Kim's felicity texture, soft light blend mode, 100%

I'd love to hear what you think... and don't forget to check out all the amazing submissions at this week's parties.  Just click on the links below!

  1. Great starting image and then all your fun playing shows some great results. My fave is probably the first one - I like that composition best and the colors are just yummy.
