Inspired by . . . yellow
A few weeks ago I was out chasing birds of a different feather across the sky!
The Bluebonnet Airshow was a lot of fun, and I thought my shots of this yellow bi-wing would be a perfect match for Kim's theme this week!
This one is fun – the pilot was sitting in the rear cockpit so it looks like not one is flying the plane!
Most of my shots came out like this . . . .
But I did get a few good shots – and found some fun aviation quotes to share with you, too!
In flying I have learned that carelessness and overconfidence are
usually far more dangerous than deliberately accepted risks.
- Wilbur Wright in a letter to his father, September 1900

Quote by Amelia Earhart
There are only two emotions in a plane: boredom and terror. ~Orson Welles
Always try to keep the number of landings you make
equal the number of take-offs you've made.
Keep lookin' up!

How fun! That bright yellow plane certainly made for a great color scheme against that blue sky. These are just marvelous.
ReplyDeleteFunny pictures! And a great vintage plane :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shots for the yellow edition, love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun set! Love the textures and the compositions!
ReplyDeleteSo great!!!
ReplyDeleteCool pictures! As someone who has flown small planes, those quotes are spot on and packed with wisdom. I'd never have the guts to fly a tail dragger like that!
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures and loved the quotes. Looking up!! Love you.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, June, for your kind comment on my latest B&W post.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the historic US NAVY biplane. Did you already had the change to be a copilot in such an aircraft and doing some loopings? Or do you prefer standing on the ground taking your pictures from the "Red Baron" / combat pilot and his flying treasure?
Uwe.
Truly great images, love the aged look and the Orson Wells quote
